Tiling on plasterboard
Tiling on plasterboard is almost the same as tiling on concret, or bricks wall. It require however some special precaution.
First of all, you will not need a special plasterboard. However, if in the room will be lot of humidity, like shower steam, you will need a special plaster to resist better to humidity. When you tiling on plasterboard you have to use a good quality adhesive. That is because concret or bricks wall are more porous, so the adhesive fix more better on this surface. Plasterboard, as you know is very plane.
One special action you need to take in this case of tiling plasterboard walls, is that you have to water insulate the floor, before adding the floor tiling, and 10 cm of the plasterboard wall. You will do that as a moisture barrier, for safety measure. Other way, if the water rich the plasterboard under the tiling floor, it will damage the plasterboard mach quicker.
